The Rockbridge NAACP’s Irma Thompson Initiative offers awards of $1,000 to $3,000 to eligible educators of color newly hired by the school systems of Rockbridge, Lexington, or Buena Vista, Virginia.
These are the teaching positions currently advertised by our local school systems:
- Math Teacher at Rockbridge County High School
- Social Studies Teacher at Maury River Middle School
- Special Ed Teacher at Maury River Middle School
- Kindergarten Teacher at F. W. Kling Jr. Elementary School
- Art Teacher at Parry McCluer High School
- Lylburn Downey Middle School Spanish Teacher (Part-Time Teacher/Part-Time Teacher Assistant)
